The architect of imagination. The engineer of ideas. The maverick of creativity peppered with a pinch of rebellion and two teaspoons of humour. Everyone, meet Funkbuilders. No, there is no grammar error in the deliberate plural application of the name.

Alan Leong is an award winning art director by day who takes pride in tormenting his platoon of builders towards creative chaos and climax. Alan is the sole mastermind behind Funkbuilders – a multi-disciplinary and multi-personality factory that houses a thousand of his alter egos since 2005.

To date, the awards trophies like Creative Circle Awards, One Show Interactive, Spikes Media... shine proudly on the second and third shelves of his minimalistic display cabinet, with his handmade toys on the first shelf for neighbours.

While Alan paints a thousand pixels of advertising campaigns for global clients by day, he finds himself at his creative purest by night, painting a lacquered coat, installation design to yet another new toy created.

Alan currently resides in Singapore with his wife, and an unknown number of house lizards.
